1948-1960 Ford Trucks

For 1953-60 Fords, the VIN plate is attached to the rear face of the dirvers door.

The easiest way to tell a 51 from a 52 is by the V8 insignia just below the hood on the 51.

The 51 and 52's had the same hood chrome on the standard cab as show in the photo to the right. But the 51 deluxe/five star extra cab, has the three piece chrome which is more like an areo head where the chrome joins. The 52 deluxe/five star extra cab, has the round insignia where the chrome joins and it is not at the end of the center piece like the 51 is. The 51 standard cab hoods only have the horizontal bar on the hood with out the round part near the front of the hood. On the 52, the center piece of chrome says Ford/Mercury on it and the round parts say F1. F2, F3 ect. 1952 Standard Cab Chrome.

Another new grill was introduced this year. It was more of a V-type that was painted white. On the center of the grill was a star emblem denoting a 6 cylinder engine, or a V8 denoting the V8 engine. Two tone paint was an option for this year and the rims were painted Snowshoe white. Park lights and hood trim were also introduced.
